RANGERS are today delighted to announce that more women’s games than ever before will be played at Ibrox Stadium next season.
Following the fixtures for the 2025/26 SWPL campaign being announced this morning, our iconic Ibrox will become the home venue for SWPL matches, subject to scheduling clashes.
The move is another huge step in the development of the women’s programme at Rangers, with the team having had the chance to run out at Ibrox on four occasions last season.
In the event of scheduling clashes, the club will work with the SWPL and partners, with Broadwood Stadium continuing to be a venue for the women’s team when Ibrox is unavailable. The club will ensure supporters are kept updated on any changes to our scheduled home fixtures at the earliest opportunity.
Women’s and Girls’ Managing Director Donald Gillies commented: “This is a big day for our women’s first team, and indeed, the entire women’s programme at Rangers.
"Ibrox is one of the most recognisable venues anywhere in football, and to know we’ll be playing even more games there than ever before will be a huge thrill for the team, and I am sure our supporters too.
“This move will not only help attract top talent to the team, but also ensure we continue to retain and develop our players as we push for greater success.
“To say that getting to this point is a key milestone for the club is an understatement. The process has been complex, involving scheduling, staffing, pitch health, supporter experience, and ensuring fairness with the SWPL and SPFL when Ibrox is unavailable.
"We will remain closely involved in these areas throughout the season, but having the full backing of the club leadership and league body to start this process is a significant step forward.
“What we are trying to achieve this year has only been accomplished by a few clubs in the whole of the UK, and so we are thankful to everyone involved, especially North Lanarkshire Council and Broadwood. Their continued support goes far beyond just providing stadium availability.”
While the club is excited to host the majority of women’s games at Ibrox next season, it is important to stress that not every home game will be played there.
The goal is to use Ibrox as often as possible, but scheduling conflicts will be the main factor in determining whether a game is held at Ibrox.
The integrity of the playing surface and the quality of the fan experience are also key considerations. We will continue to work closely with North Lanarkshire Council to ensure Broadwood remains a suitable alternative.
Now that the fixtures are published, we will work to confirm which games may need to move to Broadwood. However, the uncertainty of the men’s European fixtures, especially mid-week games, will also need to be taken into account.
Fans will be notified as early as possible, with a target of providing at least a three-week notice through official club channels.
Those who have already purchased season tickets for the women’s team will be kept updated on any venue changes
