RANGERS can today confirm the signing of Badredine Bouanani on a loan deal from VfB Stuttgart.
The 21-year-old Algerian joins Derek McInnes’ squad on the final day of the summer transfer window.
Bouanani began his development in the youth system of hometown club Lille before moving to OGC Nice in 2022, making his senior debut for the Ligue 1 side in January 2023.
He gained further senior experience during a loan spell with Lorient in the second-half of 2023/24 campaign, before returning to Nice where he featured regularly.
The winger faced Rangers in the UEFA Europa League in November 2024, getting the only goal of the game for the French side with a superb free-kick.
Following 70 appearances for Nice in all competitions, Bouanani joined Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart in the summer of 2025.
He featured 28 times in his first season in Germany, including in the UEFA Europa League.
Internationally, Bouanani represented France at several youth levels before committing his senior international future to Algeria.
On signing for Rangers, Bouanani said: “I am very happy to be here and excited to start.
“I know it’s a tough league with a lot of duels and intensity, so I will need to work.
“I have a lot of experience now, so I will try to put it into this league.”
Manager Derek McInnes commented: “We are delighted to welcome Badredine to the club. He is an exciting young player who will add real quality, creativity and a different dimension to our attacking options.
“He is very good with the ball, a real threat in one v one situations and he has already gained experience in two of Europe’s top leagues.
“We have been working hard to strengthen key areas of the team during this transfer window, and we believe Badredine has all of the attributes to make a strong contribution at Rangers.”
