RANGERS are today delighted to confirm the completion of the men’s football board, with the appointment of Nils Koppen from PSV Eindhoven as Director of Football Recruitment, subject to receipt of a work permit.
38 year-old Koppen held the role of Head of Scouting at PSV prior to joining Rangers, having worked at the Dutch side across their famed academy and productive first-team since 2018.
The football board oversees and implements the club's football strategy, including making key decisions related to player trading, contracts, and squad planning.
The board is comprised of Chairman John Bennett, CEO James Bisgrove; Manager Philippe Clement; Director of Football Operations Creag Robertson; Director of Medical and Performance Dr Mark Waller; Academy Director Zeb Jacobs; and now the club's new Director of Football Recruitment, Nils Koppen.
Koppen will begin his new role with Rangers on 2nd January and will be tasked with ensuring the club have a thriving player trading model, and leading the recently revamped scouting set-up at the Rangers Training Centre.
Speaking upon his appointment, Koppen commented: “I am delighted to be joining such a prestigious club like Rangers in what is a crucial role for the club’s forward strategy.
“The Chairman and CEO have both been clear in recent times our player trading model has to function better and on a more regular basis.
“I look forward to working with the scouting team already here at the club to ensure we reach our goals in the coming years.”
Rangers are also pleased to confirm the appointment of Tom Taylor (pictured below) as the club’s new Head of Performance.
Working closely with the Manager, Dr. Mark Waller and the first team squad, Taylor will join the Light Blues on December 22 from Premier League side, Brighton and Hove Albion.
