Rydnn McGuire Signs Contract Extension

RANGERS can today announce goalkeeper Rydnn McGuire has signed a new three-year contract extension with the club.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed an impressive rise through the Rangers Academy in recent years and has now committed his future to the club.

A Scotland youth international, McGuire made his first Under-18s appearance at the age of just 14 in a Scottish Youth Cup clash in November 2023.

His development continued apace in the youth ranks as he signed professional terms with the club for the first time in 2025.

McGuire appeared on the substitutes bench in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in the same season, learning alongside the experience of Jack Butland and Liam Kelly.

The teenager also played a prominent role in the Under-19s’ CAS Elite League title success last season, with his performances between the posts earning him the 2025/26 Academy Player of the Year accolade.

Speaking after putting pen-to-paper on a contract extension, McGuire commented: “It is a proud moment to commit my future to Rangers.

“This club has been a huge part of my life for many years, so to continue my journey here means a great deal.

“I’m really grateful to all the academy coaching staff who have supported me throughout my development, pushing me to improve every day and helping shape me into the player I am today.

“I’m excited for what the future holds, to keep working hard and developing, and hungry to hopefully create special moments for the club in the years ahead.”

Manager, Derek McInnes, added: “Rydnn is a talented young player who has worked hard to reach this point, and this new deal is recognition of the progress he has made.

“From day one, he has impressed me no end, and he’s a young man with a big future, if he continues to work hard at his game.

“As a club, we place huge importance on creating a clear pathway from the Academy into the first-team, and it’s vital that our young players can see opportunities to earn their place.

“The challenge for Rydnn now is to continue developing, and he will be both supported and challenged every step of the way by Allan McGregor and our fantastic goalkeeping department.”
