A Strong Start Was Key To Three Points

KANE Ritchie-Hosler believes getting off to a strong start in this evening’s City of Glasgow Cup match was key in securing the three points.

The Light Blues beat Partick Thistle 3-0 at Rangers Training Centre as Ross McCausland netted with just six minutes on the clock before Juan Alegria scored a double.

Speaking to RangersTV at full-time Ritchie-Hosler said: “It was a very good game, I think we played well especially in the first half. We created a lot of chances and got three goals so it was a good performance today.

“It is big to get off to a good start. They were decent opposition so to get a good start and score early and get a few more it was very good for us.

“It is always important to keep a clean sheet, even when we are winning we always want to keep that clean sheet.

“Playing against first teams is another test and it is a good start in another competition so we just need to keep continuing like that.”

Ritchie-Hosler stepped back into right-back this evening and says he is adapting to playing in a new defensive position.

He continued: “I am enjoying it, it is very different being a defender and I have enjoyed getting forward and defending but I am still getting used to it.

“I think I have adapted to it well, it is different but everyone has helped and I just need to keep going and keep getting used to it.”
