In the latest instalment of our Academy Monthly series, we reflect on last month through the age groups.
At first-team level, there was Academy representation in the UEFA Europa League matchday squad for Under-19s midfielder Calum Adamson, who was on the substitutes bench in the draw with Braga at Ibrox.
Indeed, Europe has provided Danny Röhl with the opportunity to involve some youth talent in his squad this campaign, with Kyle Glasgow, Ashton Scally and Luca Rankin, all 15-years-old, sampling a first-team environment in the competition.
They have been welcomed by Academy graduate Findlay Curtis, who enjoyed a pair of substitute appearances for the Gers in November against AS Roma and Falkirk.
Elsewhere, the Academy’s strong loans group continue to thrive around Scotland, with the trio of Callum Burnside, Lewis Stewart and Adamson helping Alloa Athletic up to second in the League One table.
Burnside, who also represented Northern Ireland Under-19s on international duty last month, has earned several Player of the Match awards thanks to his goal contributions, while Stewart got off the goalscoring mark and Adamson continues to be a creative and driving force.
At Raith Rovers, meanwhile, Paul Nsio has established himself as a mainstay in the side, while Jack Wyllie has starred for Kelty Hearts in League One, Lyle Wark and Cormac Christie have featured for Forfar Athletic, and Connor Campbell will hope to make his first Stirling Albion outing in the coming weeks to join Arran Kerr and Chris Eadie in the side’s push up League Two.
Goalkeeper Alfie Halliwell continues to gain valuable experience in the Lowland League with Albion Rovers, while Blaine McClure, who captained Northern Ireland Under-19s to qualification to the Elite Round of European Championship qualifying, has impressed with Nottingham Forest Under-21s.
The November internationals was a proud period for the Academy as Josh Gentles captained and scored for Wales Under-19s, while the club were strongly represented in the Scotland Under-19s squad with appearances for Adamson, Stewart, Halliwell and Rydnn McGuire.
Down the Scotland age group and both Aiden Crilly and Max Cameron were involved in the Under-17s set-up; Glasgow, Rankin, Scally and Coben Fergusson were all in action for the Under-16s; while Cody Mensing, Ollie Johnston, Nathan Brown, Kai Urban, Ollie Masterton and Charlie Miller received Under-15s call-ups.
Back at club level, the Under-19s competed across the KDM Evolution Trophy and CAS Elite League, producing a 3-1 victory over Dundee United in the latter.
The side currently sit top of the league by two points having won five out of their seven fixtures this season.
The Under-17s, who lead the way in their division, were victorious over Motherwell last month, with forward Chris Condy continuing his impressive goalscoring form in the first half of the season.
In the meantime, the Royal Regiment of Scotland Boxing squad visited the Rangers Training Centre to participate in some fitness testing with our Academy performance team, which supporters can enjoy over on our official YouTube channel.
Under-19s players Arran Kerr and Greig Thackray also supported the Rangers Charity Foundation’s Big Ibrox Sleep Out last month by sleeping overnight at the stadium.
The prestigious Surf Cup in Salou also took place as our Under-12s enjoyed an impressive run to the semi-finals, while the Under-10s were also in Italy to square off against Juventus and compete in the Trofeo Citta’ Di Venaria.
