The Scottish Premiership victory saw Gers make it three clean sheets on the bounce – but in typical Allan McGregor fashion, he shrugged off both the record and the clean sheet, insisting the three points were all-important.
Speaking after the game to RangersTV, he explained: "I'm actually more pleased with the win rather than the other two! But it is a good achievement and it is one to definitely look back on when I retire, so I am pleased.
"I think we have been a lot better during the season. But the most important thing is the win and I'll say that every time.
"It is more important than a clean sheet - I would rather win 2-1 than draw 0-0. The most important thing is the three points.
"It doesn't matter how you win any game of football, as long as you win. We scored two decent goals, and I'll say it again for the millionth time, three points is the most important thing."
Today’s win comes just a fortnight after the League Cup defeat to the same side at the same venue.
Since then, Gers have won all four of their matches in the Scottish Premiership, showing an outstanding response to that disappointment.
McGregor has been over the course at Rangers so many times, and knows exactly what it takes to be successful in the face of adversity. He added: "You need to do that. Every good team when you have a small setback or a big setback, you need to come out and forget about it first and foremost, learn from it and keep doing the good things you've been doing all season. I think we have done that."
