The American started at right-back in the 6-0 win over St Joseph’s in the Europa League and provided an assist for Jermain Defoe’s first of two goals.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “It was an incredible experience to see the place packed and just loud! It was some moment for myself and the team and I really enjoyed the day.
“I think the pre-season really helped me. I did well throughout and it was tough, and I think it helped quite a bit today. I did well in the second half though I could have done a little bit better in the first half, though I am pleased with the performance as a group and with myself.
“But I think for my first start in my Rangers career I think I did okay. We have a couple more pre-season games, and the competition is growing more which I think is good for us going into the new season.
“I think we will have a tough first month, but the tougher the games, the better we are.”
Polster is now seven months into his time here in Glasgow, and he feels he has improved in that spell as he has become more comfortable with his surroundings.
He added: “I think I have grown as a player. It is a bit of a culture shock for me not having friends and family over here with me – but that’s not an excuse.
“The group as a whole is close and I am getting close to a lot of my teammates now.”
