The Light Blues have already wrapped up a third Sky Sports Cup in a row, have a Scottish Cup semi-final later this month and are right in amongst the SWPL title race as they head into a crucial part of the campaign.
Speaking to RangersTV for the first time since joining just over five weeks ago and being part of the coaching staff to help the team claim the trophy at Fir Park in March, he said: “I am always confident and the reason I am always confident is I watch the players training daily.
“I watch how intensive they are in the sessions, how committed they are to everything.
“How much they listen to the staff here and then implement it in the games.
“They are also very aware of the respect they have got for the opposition.
“The league is very tight and the reason it is very tight is that it has got some good teams in there with some good players.
“We know it'll be tough but if we continue to train with that intensity and quality, aggression and attitude, everything will take care of itself.”
The former player has given an insight as to why he went down the coaching route after his hanging up his boots and reflected on some of his highlights so far which have included appearing at the 2019 World Cup with the Scotland national team.
He continued: “Why coaching? To be fair I wasn't really sure about it, it was after a few years I decided to go into it.
“Because of the type of player I was I always had to think about the game because I wasn't the biggest, strongest or the quickest.
“I thought about the game probably more than some of my teammates and I think I had something to offer.
“Is it ok saying that then I wanted to prove it?
“I got into the coaching and got the bug for it and thoroughly enjoyed it.
“Got to a decent level with the Scotland national team and that was an amazing experience getting to the World Cup and it has been great in here as well.
“Hopefully we can continue to improve and win some trophies at the end of that as well.
“It has been amazing I was actually speaking to some of the players this morning after the training session saying that in the past four or five years the difference in the level of training has been incredible.
“It comes down to clubs like Rangers that invest in good coaches and managers and great facilities and the rest of the teams to be fair to them have cottoned onto that and are doing the same thing.
“It is driving the whole game to be bigger and better.
“You can see that at the weekend and you can see that in the leagues.
“It is brilliant to be a part of it and hopefully we can finish that off with some more silverware.
“The World Cup was an unbelievable experience; I have been very lucky in my career to have some great moments but nothing beats going to the World Cup.
“Even though it ended on a low note it was still an amazing experience and I take so much from it, professionally and as a person as well.”
