The striker was alert in the second half to play a part in creating, and then scoring the opening goal against a typically stubborn Kilmarnock at Ibrox.
He was thrilled to get off the mark and told RangersTV: "It was an unbelievable moment in front of our fans to score here at Ibrox. It is the best feeling for me and it is a really important one so early in the season to start with a goal for a striker especially.
"But the most important thing is we won today, we took the three points and we just want to continue in this way.
"I reacted fast, passed the ball to Tom [Lawrence], Tom played a perfect ball to me and I had a two-touch finish.
"It was where I have to be and they are chances I have to take because in these games, you don't get too many chances.
"I am really happy that I scored and now I want to continue in that way."
On the performance, Colak continued: "It is not easy in these games and you have to wait for your situations, keep the ball, be patient and we wanted to score an early goal in the first half, but unfortunately, it wasn't like that.
"We just continued and created more chances and possibilities, and then early in the second half, we scored the goal and that opened spaces for us, and we got the second goal as well."
Colak also explained how much the support of the Rangers fans pushes him on, and he continued: "Every time I enter the pitch at the start, I get goosebumps.
"I try to take the energy from the fans, they push us all the time and I think it is a big reason why we are successful as we have incredible fans.
"I just want to try to enjoy every game, not only here but every away game with our support and to get as many wins as we can."
