The Canadian midfielder spoke of the disappointment of the players after a late Christian Fassnacht winner snatched a point away from the Gers.
He said: “It’s extremely hard to take, it’s obviously a disappointing night.
“In the game, for large periods we dominated, and then they put us under pressure in the second half for a little spell, but we never felt in danger of losing the game so it’s a tough one to swallow.
The Gers will face Young Boys again in December at Ibrox, but before that have to take on Porto firstly away from home then at Ibrox.
Arfield continued “The games at home are obviously massive as everyone knows. If you win your home games, you’re hopefully on your way to the next stage.
“Tonight we need to reflect on this, respect it, look at the bigger picture and then build the momentum again going in to Hamilton and get a better result there.”
Hamilton are the visitors to Ibrox this Sunday in the Ladbrokes Premiership and Arfield says that the players will be looking to bounce back with three points.
“We’ve got a massive game again on Sunday and if we slip up there it’s going to be disasterous, but it’s not in our nature to do that and the bigger picture for us is that we just need to go and win that game.”
