A 3-2 aggregate victory over SC Braga booked Gers’ place in the last four of the competition and the midfielder says it is an ‘outstanding achievement’ for the squad.
Speaking to rangers.co.uk, he said: “Everybody connected with the club is so proud of what we have achieved here.
“I have just been told that there are only two domestic champions still in Europe at this stage of the season so it is an outstanding achievement.
“We started this back in the summer and to still be in this competition and in the semi-finals is brilliant.”
Arfield believes Rangers deserved to progress as they overturned a 1-0 deficit with the backing of a sold-out Ibrox.
He continued: “We made it hard for ourselves late on in the 90 it minutes and we just needed that goal. Kemar [Roofe] comes in with it and then I make it even harder for everybody when I come in and miss that chance but overall I think we deserve it.
“After the game in Braga last week we were confident we could win the game and it has prevailed like that so everyone is delighted.
“We said we were going to need the players to strive the supporters on and supporters to strive the players on and I think it was that.
“You could see that from the 15 minutes before kick-off when it was bouncing in here and we knew we could get them.”
Attention now turns to Sunday’s Old Firm Scottish Cup Semi-Final, Arfield added: “It is a massive game on Sunday, everyone knows it. Old Firm games are always huge and it is the fact it is a semi-final and the chance to get to a final is huge.”
