The Light Blues ran out 5-1 winners over the Steelmen when the two met at Fir Park back in September, but since then, Stephen Robinson’s side have kicked-on and now sit fifth in the table.
Speaking at this morning’s media conference, Arfield explained: "When we played them earlier in the season, I think they were in a false position. I think they were down the bottom of the league at that time but they have strengths all over the pitch, have goals from different areas and can hit us on the break.
"It is one we are not taking lightly and if you disrespect any opponent and become arrogant then you will come short by some distance. "It's not a game we will be taking lightly for sure."
Arfield was also quizzed on how he is keeping himself in top shape to keep up with the rigours of what is a very demanding season.
He continued on that: "When you are ready to go, you need to make sure you are at 100 per-cent. If you ask any player, you would rather be playing games than training.
"We are now five months into the season and we have played a hell of a lot of games so far and [I] have featured so heavily.
"I have said before, we have the best kitchen staff, the best masseuses, the best sports scientists and the best physios - and that helps us at times like this when the schedule is as hectic as it is.
"You need to eat right, recover right and be ready to go again. I don't think I am doing anything particularly differently - I think the international breaks have helped me be as fresh as possible."
