Baillie Collins: This Is the Right Place for Me

BAILLEY Collins says getting the opportunity to link back up with Leanne Crichton was one she couldn’t turn down.

Becoming Rangers’ second signing of the summer window, the 22-year-old will get the chance to work under the former Scotland international again, having had a previous stint as assistant coach at Motherwell.

Making the move from the fellow SPWPL side, she spoke to RangersTV in her first interview with the club: “She drives standards, and she just wants the best for everyone. She has got a winning mentality, and that is what I want to do.

“I want to win and play a big part here and get success.

“For me and developing that next chapter, I think this is the right place for me to do that and they can get the best out of me right here.

“I just want to give my best, improve the team and help them as much as I can.

“I think I can play a big part in helping that team drive and push on to win trophies as well.

“I can’t wait to get started, can’t wait to meet everyone and just get my foot in the door and start working hard.

The right-sided player feels having knowledge of the Scottish game will hopefully stand her in good stead in making the switch, as she steps into a full-time environment for the first time following stints with Aberdeen and Motherwell previously.

She continued: “The experience that I have within this league is really good.

“Both clubs have made me into the player that I am today.

“If it wasn't for them, I think I wouldn’t be in this position.

“All the coaches and the players that I have played with in the past have driven me to improve every day, and that is why I am here.”

Having had the chance to share a dressing room with her now teammates at her last club, the former Scotland youth international is looking forward to what’s to come, including a European experience for the first time in her career.

She added: “There are a few that have been on loan to Motherwell in the past and I have seen them really make their mark in this team now, which has inspired me to do so as well.

“I am buzzing, I can’t wait. To get that experience within the first season of full-time football, it is something that one could only ever dream of, and the fact it is coming true now, I really can’t wait for it.”
