The Light Blues host David Martindale’s team as they look to book their place at Hampden Park for the semis as they prepare to host fellow Scottish Premiership side.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference the assistant coach says the team will approach the game exactly the same as always as they try book their place in the last four at the National Stadium.
He said: “When you look at it, I think running on four competitions is great. We had the league last Sunday then we had Europe during the week and now we have got the League Cup on Wednesday, it is fantastic.
“That is what we all come here for and that is what we want to be involved in. We prepare exactly the same as we do every game, we are focused on winning on Wednesday night and the game ahead and how tough it is going to be for us.”
Banfield insists the staff and players continue to drive standards with each other and continued: “We are all harsh, that is how you improve, sometimes you don't accept 1-0's. You have got to look at it properly, you analyse it truthfully and honestly. I think the group have and we have spoken about it and we move on to Wednesday where we can improve again. They are harsh on themselves, it is a harsh and hard group, that is the only way that you get success, that is a way of working.
“You accept that things maybe could have been better, but then with a third clean sheet in a row, tough games, it holds you strong. Your foundation of clean sheets is a recipe for success.
“We will just keep doing the things we are doing, hopefully we can get our chances and score a few more goals, but it is a work in progress.”
