The Gers hold a 3-1 lead over Fenerbahce after an impressive display in the Turkish capital on Thursday evening, as they look to make the most of their advantage in their second leg showdown at Ibrox to book their place in the last eight.
Speaking to the media ahead of the clash under the lights tomorrow evening, he commented: “All the boys are buzzing, it was obviously a great result over in Turkey last week.
“We have got a massive tie tomorrow and we know it is not done so everyone is fully focused on making sure the job is done tomorrow night.
“It was a good performance but the game is done now.
“We are onto the second leg and we know it is not done.
“We need to better than what we were over there, we expect Fenerbahce to come over and they are a top side so we respect them and have got to make sure that we are on the ball tomorrow.
“No matter the occasion or anything you have got to go and apply yourself and make sure that you are putting in a good performance to first of all help the team.
“Of course these games you are going out to prove yourself as well, every time you step on the pitch you have got to have that in your head but tomorrow we have got to a job to do and we'll be ready for that.
“To progress? It would be a massive achievement of course.
“We want to go as far as we can in the competition, there has been a couple of knocks and bumps on the road but it is about how you overcome them and how you look in the future now and we have got to take every game as it comes and make sure that we win every game we play in.”
The Scottish midfielder made his return to the starting side in the first leg after a recent spell on the sidelines with injury, saying he always relishes the challenges of testing himself against top players.
He continued: “It was obviously a tough time being out injured, but for me I tried to look at the positives and what I can improve on as a player.
“I went away and done that and different aspects of my game which I could try and improve.
“I look forward to the last few months of the season and hopefully I can do all to keep myself in the team and keep improving as a player.
“You have got to play well; you have got to keep yourself in the team.
“That is down to me, that is down to nobody else.
“Obviously it was great that I was in last Thursday after being injured, it was a positive.
“It is down to me to keep myself in the team and it nobody else.
“It was great, every game in Europe you are always playing against top quality players and it is nice to challenge yourself in games like that.
“You have got to go and win matches and that is all that is in my head to be honest, it is not who I am playing against it is what I can do to help the team and what we need to do every game is win matches and that is the important thing for me.”
The 22-year-old has hailed the early impact head coach Barry Ferguson has had on himself and the players, saying he is constantly learning off the guidance of the former midfielder who was an Ibrox great during his playing days.
He added: “He has been great; I said last week after that game I had a few individual sessions after training and he has kind of taken me under his wing and taught me different things in my game that I can improve on which has been great.
“Him and all the staff have been great.
“They have been right in and about the boys and there has been really clear messages we have going into the games.
“They have been brilliant, I can't speak highly enough of what they have done since they have come in, they have been great, it just about us continuing that now.”
