The Light Blues have found victories difficult to come by recently in Govan and were pegged back in last week's Old Firm clash despite taking a first-half lead.
Speaking to the media ahead of the visit of Aberdeen at Sunday lunchtime, he commented: "Seven games is far too long.
“Two of those games I wasn't involved in in terms of Queen's Park and St. Mirren. I look at the other five games: Fenerbahce, Athletic Club and Celtic are high-quality teams; the ones that frustrate and annoy me are the Hibs and Motherwell games where the performances were well below what's expected.
"The players understand what we have to do on Sunday; we need to get that first win.
"The players understand that seven games is far too long. The supporters certainly understand that.
"That's all the motivation that you need to go and get three points against an Aberdeen team who are still going for third place and a cup final to play.
"They'll be champing at the bit to make sure they put a performance on.
"I fully understand it's going to be a tough game but bring it on. From my side, these are the games that you want to be involved in."
Ferguson says his side have been hard at work this week on the training pitch to improve as a collective.
Indeed, the visit of Jimmy Thelin's side is the penultimate Ibrox outing of the campaign for the Gers as they look to end the campaign on a high.
Ferguson continued: "All I ask is the players to be as professional as possible, which they have been this week.
"They have kept their head down and worked hard on certain things that I mentioned last week that we can get better at. I need to be professional and so do the staff.
"I thought in terms of the game against Celtic - although it wasn't our best performance - I saw a fully committed team on the pitch. And that's what I want to see every single game.
"We have worked on some things that we can improve on this week, and if we can get those things better then we can certainly hurt teams."
The Gers Head Coach also provided an injury update ahead of Sunday's clash, adding: "Ianis [Hagi] unfortunately is going to miss the rest of the season.
"I'm disappointed for him. He's hurting because he's a brilliant kid to work with and he has a lot to offer.
"Nana [Kasanwirjo] has done well to come back; he's not at the level that I want him to be at but he's had a full week of training.
"Hopefully we'll see him on the pitch before the end of the season. Robin Propper trained today, so we're starting to get a few guys back ready to play.
"What I want as a manager is for it to be difficult to pick an XI.
"I don't want it to be easy, so it's good to have a few guys back in the fold."
