CALVIN BASSEY insists Rangers will give nothing less than their best as they travel to Estádio Municipal to face Braga in the Europa League Quarter-Final on Thursday evening.
The Light Blues will travel to Portugal to face Carlos Carvalhal’s side in the first leg of the last eight, and Bassey expressed his emotions to compete in the tournament.
Speaking to the media at the pre-match press conference, he said: “Boys dream of playing in the Europa and Champions League, we just want to keep the form going and trying every game to reach new boundaries and better ourselves to give good performances.
“We’ve gotten this far, and we have hopes of getting further. We know that Braga are a good team and we’re going to have to be at our best.
"There’s a bit of confidence taken from the games that we’ve had previously against Borussia Dortmund, Red Star and what we’ve had to overcome.
The versatile defender reflected on last week’s game in the Premiership and outlined how the squad will utilise that heading into Thursday night’s fixture.
He added: “You could see on the pitch that we weren’t happy, as the boss said we’ve just got to put it behind us and move forward. We have big games coming up and we believe that it’s not over until it’s over, we still have a lot to play and fight for.
“It will mean a lot to put a smile back on their [the fans'] faces, they’ve been with us through the highs and lows of this season, and we just want to give them another high tomorrow – it will be a confidence boost for all of us as well.
"It’s important for us to go out there and give nothing less than 110 per-cent to try and get a result and put a smile back on the faces of our fans.
"I’ve always wanted to play week in and out and internationally, I can’t get to this stage now and give up, give in or feel sorry for myself – I’ve just got to take each game as it comes and try and give the best performance that I can give no matter where I am playing.”
