It’s the first competitive match for Beale in the dugout since returning to the club as manager and he hopes the players can put on a strong performance in front of the home supporters.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, the manager said: “On a personal level I feel overly ready for the game, and I can't wait for tomorrow night. It is going to be a hugely proud moment for me but it is more important that the fans and the players are aligned and we put on a strong performance at home at Ibrox.
“The players just need to go out and play at the level I know that they can and I thought they showed a good indication that they are moving in the right direction on Saturday, albeit it was against a Bayer Leverkusen team that is behind us in their preparation.
“It is just about winning the next game, all we can control is ourselves, and if we win games of football then it gives us the best opportunity.”
“I just need them to be the best version of themselves, I need to see a team that has got a lot of cohesion, that is aggressive in its pressing, aggressive in its forward running and I want them to show the same quality they showed against Bayer Leverkusen.”
Beale says he has been delighted with the response of the players on the training pitch since he joined as manager two weeks ago. He continued: “I am absolutely delighted with that, I think it is a group that was hurting when I came in and I spoke to a few of the senior players but also the young ones as well. It was important I got a 360 in terms of feedback from everyone, staff as well.
“It was important to listen to everyone but I have been delighted with everyone's application so far and I certainly see a group of players who are focused on being here and doing well for the club and each other.”
When asked what supporters can expect from his Rangers side, Beale added: “You'll see some changes quite quickly in terms of structure, how we want to press, how we want to defend and certainly one or two players where they are able to go in possession as well.
“I am not overlooking the fact that I have come in midseason and not had a pre-season but I do have an advantage of working with these players so there's part of us adapting more quickly. I think they will see a team close to the style of what they were used to when I was here under Steven, in terms of the way we want to play and play front-foot attacking football.
“I am actually excited to watch them play, I'm hugely optimistic to get back to Ibrox tomorrow and for the fans to get behind the team.”
