The Gers boss, who was today named Scottish Premiership Manager of the Month for December, says it is important the squad continue to build on their performances moving forward this month.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, Beale was asked about the mood in the squad following Monday’s Old Firm derby draw. He said: “In the main it was a really positive performance. I think when the dust settles we are content enough with the performance but knowing that we can do more over time. I think that is the big thing for us getting better and stronger as we go.
“I think since Ben [Davies] and Connor [Goldson] have been back together we have looked a lot stronger, Borna [Barisic] has come back in and performed well and I have seen a young boy in Adam Devine showcase himself as well so that is good.
“John Souttar was back in training today which is really positive and Leon King is doing well so all of a sudden it looks a lot more positive.
“We have rotated the midfielders a lot because we have needed to but in terms of the squad everybody seems in a more healthy place. Antonio and Kemar have had another week and all of a sudden you go out to training today and you have three number nine’s and it looks a lot more stronger than it did a few weeks ago.
“What I can see is that everyone is committed and all in and as we get people back the form will come. They needed a bit of a kick in terms of belief which is what I said to them in the game at half-time and I thought they performed well.”
On picking-up the Manager of the Month award, Beale continued: “It is a great start, I wasn't expecting it because I wasn't even thinking about it. The credit goes to the players because we have come in and changed a lot in terms of the way that we play, the way we train, the intensity, and the ideas.
“The players have had to take on a lot, I've chopped and changed the team as well to give everyone an opportunity and they deserve the credit because they go and play.”
