The Light Blues are on away duty in the league for the first time since their impressive 3-0 win over Hearts at Tynecastle on the first of this month as they face David Martindale’s side.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s press conference the Gers boss knows the difficulty of the task at hand but has encouraged the team to produce a similar level of display to the last time they were on their travels.
He said: “It will be an extremely difficult test, obviously they know the surface and the pitch, I like going there because we take a great number of fans and they are close to the pitch, they have an impact on the game.
“We know that David [Martindale] will have his team fired up, it is important that we go there and put on a strong away performance. Our last away performance in the league was away to Hearts and it was our best performance to date, so I am looking for somewhere around that, certainly out of possession.”
Gers are in fantastic form having won their last eight matches and the manager knows how tough a place it can be to go and get a result but wants the team to use the form they find themselves in to deliver another victory.
He continued: “The pitch is difficult, so I think the advantage is with the team that train on it every single day, it is in their favour and generally the teams with the artificial surface have good home forms. It is a tough place to go, we have had reasonable results there in the past, but we know that they are riding high.
“David does a fantastic job, they are fourth in the league and will be full of confidence, but we couldn’t be in stronger form than we are in now ourselves.”
Beale wants the team to take the season one match at a time as they look to compete for the honours still available and insists there is plenty football to played and a lot to be decided of what is left of the campaign.
He added: “You just play the game that is in front of you, we have got a week’s preparation into the cup final, the game on Saturday then Sunday is a lot of time, I would prefer us to have strong rhythm going into that game.
“The lovely thing with us at the moment is that we have got a third of the season to go, everything is to play for.
“We are in a good place compared to where we were a couple of months ago, our squad and results look stronger, and the trophies are there still to be won.”
