BLAINE McCLURE has been named Academy Player of the Month for January, presented by Carrick Packaging.
The young midfielder, who celebrates his 17th birthday today, has been selected by Academy coaching staff for his impressive performances for Rangers Under-18s during their positive CAS Elite Under-18s League and Scottish Youth Cup form.
McClure, who has represented Northern Ireland at Under-19 level, has been an ever-present in Steven Smith’s side this term.
His deliveries from dead ball situations have become a crucial weapon for the side, grabbing an assist in the 6-4 victory over Hamilton Academical at the end of the month.
The teenager was also instrumental in victories over Liverpool and Celtic last month, as well as the young Gers’ 1-0 win over Hearts in the quarter-finals of the Scottish Youth Cup.
