147 days on from her last outing in blue, the winger appeared as a second half substitute in the team’s last outing after suffering a frustrating time on the sidelines.
Speaking to the official club website after making her comeback and what’s to come, she said: “It was obviously great to get back involved on a matchday with the girls, as part of the squad and not watching from the stands.
“It can be difficult watching from the stands, you feel a bit distanced from the team but I also feel it is important to be there to support the girls.
“Just thankfully the hard work behind the scenes has got me back into a matchday squad and I enjoyed getting my first minutes in a wee while now so it was really good.
“I had an injury to my right hamstring. Obviously with protocols we followed the rehab plan that linked in with the MRI scan, but unfortunately I had a bit of a setback a few weeks into the rehab which set me out for a longer period on the sidelines.
“It is tough to take when you get a setback but you have got to trust the process and I worked closely with Stuart [Phin] the physio and I am very thankful for him because he managed to help me get back to the pitch and feeling myself again.
“As much as it is difficult, the rehab side is so important. Thankfully we have got a good medical team here who could help with that.
“We weren't too far into the season when the injury happened.
“It is difficult when you work hard in pre-season on your fitness and you come back and you feel like you get off to a good start and we had a new manager in and you have got that wee bit about you wanting to impress.
“To get an injury and set you on the sidelines for so long, but we are in here training every day, you still see there is hard work that you need to put in to get back being on the pitch.
“I am just grateful to have the good staff and medical team round about and a really good group of players who help you get through the hard times.”
The Light Blues continued their fine form with an emphatic 11-0 victory over Hamilton in their last outing, with the 26-year-old praising the side for their display in the game she appeared in the 74th minute off the bench for a first appearance since mid-September.
She continued: “You saw from the first half performance the girls came out flying.
“To be in with that scoreline at half time it gives you a bit of stability to maybe think that you are going to get some minutes in the game because the girls have done such a good job.
“As we touched on throughout the week the way the goals came as well there was a variety of play and scorers.
“It seems like a lot of the hard work we have been doing in training came into the game and it is pleasing to see.
“I thought the girls were excellent and on a personal note I was just happy to get some minutes back on the pitch.
Her previous outing in a Rangers jersey came against tomorrow’s opponents in Partick Thistle, with Hay urging her teammates to continue on and book their place in the last four of the Scottish Cup and a step closer to silverware with victory.
She added: “Thistle? They are a difficult team to play against.
“They are hard to break down and they can pose threats on the counter-attack as well which we have seen in previous games.
“If we just stick to what we have been doing in training and follow the game plan then hopefully by the end of it we come out going into the next round of the cup.
“That is obviously the main objective and whatever happens on the day I think the win is the most important.
“How we play or not is irrelevant as long as we can get through the cup tie. I am really looking forward to it and getting back in with the squad so it should be good.”
