The B Team keeper believes the game against the Championship side will be a tough challenge but is confident the Gers have benefitted from playing in the Lowland League.
Speaking exclusively to RangersTV ahead of the young Gers’ fixture against the Ayrshire side in the second round of the SPFL Trust Trophy, the youngster outlined the squad’s excitement for Tuesday night’s game.
He said: “I think the challenge to continually play against men every single week [in the Lowland League] has certainly helped and developed the boys for the harder games coming up.
“We’re looking forward to it [SPFL Trust Trophy against Ayr United], I think it’s going to be a tough game but it’s going to be a challenge that we’re really looking forward to.”
Following his return from international duty with the Scotland U21 squad, the Light Blue believes that his experience away with the national team will add to his development. He added: “The experience was good for me because there are a few players in the Scotland U21 squad that are playing at a high level in their first teams. It was great to learn [from] their professionalism.”
