The winger, who joined the club earlier this month, curled home beyond Lee Gibson from the corner of the penalty area with six minutes to play to cap off an excellent individual display.
Speaking to RangersTV after the game, a delighted Brookshire said: “I’m just super excited to help the team get a point.
“It was a tough game, but I think we had a lot of opportunities and I knew that it was coming. If it wasn’t me then it was going to be someone else on the pitch. I’m just happy to help the team.
“I don’t even really remember it, to be honest! Wilko played a great ball out wide and I just saw an opportunity to shoot.
“I knew it was getting towards the end of the game and we needed to get something going.
“We pushed well throughout the game and we deserved more, but we’re glad to get a point and not drop three.”
It has been a whirlwind last few weeks for Brookshire, who arrived as a free agent having most recently featured for FHL in the Icelandic Premier League during last season.
But the 24-year-old says she’s loving life in Scotland and has credited her teammates and the staff at Rangers for helping her settle.
She added: “It’s been crazy but so fun and I’m so excited to keep going with the club. Everyone, from the coaches, staff and my teammates, have been super helpful.
“They have adjusted me into the group and they have made me feel comfortable off the pitch. It’s really helped me.
“Every day at training is so competitive and it’s something that I love about it. I just know it’ll continue to push me every single day and it’s something I’m excited for.
“Next weekend’s Old Firm? I’ve heard a lot about the rivalry and I’m excited to be a part of it and see what goes on.”
