The 16-year-old was given the nod from the off in midfield, making the step up from the Under-18s squad after joining the club full-time in the summer.
The young midfielder was instrumental in the centre of the pitch as Gers B turned in a terrific performance that was rewarded with second half goals from Kristian Webster and James Graham.
Speaking to RangersTV after the victory, the teenager said: “I’m very happy to make my B Team debut. I’m pleased to make a good impact on the game and I’m proud to get the win today.
“We were doing the match prep the day before and Malky [Thomson] pulled me into his office and said I was starting. I was really happy.
“Both [coaches] just said to me before the match to go out there and be myself, show what I can do, and I feel as if I done that and made an impact in the game.”
There was a four-year age gap in midfield as the 2007-born Adamson lined up alongside Cole McKinnon in the engine room.
The Scotland Under-17 international has credited both McKinnon and captain Robbie Fraser for their influence on his performance, and he insists today’s opportunity is fuel for him to keep his head down and work even harder on the training pitch.
He added: “They were great for me and talked me through the whole game. I couldn’t ask for much more, and both had really good performances themselves.
“I’ve made a decent start with the Under-18s. We’re third in the league and there are improvements to be made.
“Hopefully [more opportunities] can happen and I continue with the Under-18s, keep improving, and getting more minutes with the B Team.”
