The 17-year-old midfielder was a second half substitute as he enjoyed his first minutes since suffering a broken ankle just a few short months ago in league action.
And he says it’s a date that has been circled in his calendar for quite some time as he eyed his return to the pitch.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, Adamson reflected: “I was buzzing just to get back out there, never mind get my goal.
“I’ve been looking forward to it for months now and I’m glad at the way that it went.
“I thought I was going to be blowing after five minutes, but I’ve been working with Steve [Walker] for a while now with my fitness.
“I felt absolutely fine, but match fitness is a lot different.
“I was making my usual sprints towards the penalty box and I’m quite glad with that.
“Stevie [Smith] told me to go on and do what I usually done before my injury.
“I felt I came on and brought a bit of energy to the boys, and we went on and got the equaliser.
“It wasn’t a great penalty, but it is what it is! I’m quite glad that I stepped up and took it.”
Adamson was fresh off the back of a first Scotland Under-19s call-up when injury struck in a league match at the end of last year.
It was a bitter pill for swallow for the teenager, but he is grateful to the support he received from the medical team in the Academy.
The 17-year-old is now keen to learn from the experience and make an impact for the Under-18s in the second half of the campaign.
He added: “As you can imagine, it was tough for me.
“I felt as if everything was going right at that point: I felt fit, confident, and I was playing for the B Team and training occasionally with the first-team.
“But you get setbacks in football and that’s what happened.
“I just had to accept that and I’ve took it in my stride. Today was a good start for that.
“Now that it’s happened I know I can come back from these types of injuries if it ever happens again.
“I’m hoping it doesn’t, but I know I have a strong mentality and long may that continue.
“There’s still a full half to be played in the league.
“We’re in a good position and I just can’t wait to get back out there and hopefully get some silverware at the end of the season.”
