TODD Cantwell has tonight insisted he is at Rangers to win, with silverware firmly in his sights as he begins life at Ibrox.
The flexible midfield man joined Gers on a long-term deal earlier today, and he already has experience of winning having twice clinched the Championship as a Norwich City player.
Speaking to RangersTV, Cantwell said: "Before any experience of it here, I would say I love it. I have always, even since I was a little kid, want to win - no matter what it is I play.
"I can have a game of ping pong with my brother and be as competitive as you like to try and win it.
"In terms of winning and having that mentality, that is something that is embedded in me and I look forward to showing that on the pitch."
Cantwell hasn’t yet experienced European football in his career, but he is firmly looking forward to the potential of that next season with Gers now a firmly established name on the continent.
He continued: "I can't wait. It is something that you always watch, those European nights during the week, and I have watched plenty of games with Rangers and the success they had in the Europa League not that long ago.
"I am really excited to get into that sort of competition and to be playing in Europe and some of the biggest stages in the World.
"I am really looking forward to it."
Before that can be considered, however, Gers are still active on three domestic fronts.
The next stage in that is the visit of St Johnstone to Ibrox on Saturday in the Scottish Premiership.
On the potential of making his debut there, Cantwell smiled: "It is something I can't wait for to be honest - getting going and getting playing. It is obviously a massive stadium with a fantastic fanbase, and while I am not used to that size of stadium being on my side - as I've only ever played away from home in stadiums like that - to have it on my side I think will be really powerful."
