Gers ran out 4-2 winners over the Steelmen this afternoon, with Cantwell putting Gers 3-2 ahead in the contest.
Speaking to RangersTV afterwards, Cantwell explained: "I am delighted as it has been a while. It is great to be here, I am loving it and I like to think I am bringing a lot to the game.
"Then to get a goal is exactly what I want to bring."
Cantwell reflected on a topsy-turvy game in North Lanarkshire, continuing: "I don't think we started well but we had spells where we dominated the way we wanted to and spells where we were maybe a little bit sloppy.
"But I think the second half was maybe a good opportunity for us to get together and impose ourselves the way we wanted to.
"[The half time message] was to move the ball quicker, be tidier and rely on our quality a little bit better and I think, in the first instance, I got the ball, I played it quickly out to Tav and you know what Tav can do in those positions, and Fash was in the perfect place to head it in and that set us in the right direction.
The Englishman, who joined Gers in the Janaury window, was complimentary of the team’s character to come from a goal down and to kick on from a leveller at different points in the match.
He said: "It is massively important and it is a winners' mentality. Everyone here wants to win - they don't want to draw, so when we come to places like this and things are against us, then I think it is really important we stick together and keep doing what we are supposed to be doing."
That’s now eight wins on the bounce away from home in the Scottish Premiership, with Cantwell adding: "I don't think anyone in there wants to lose it - the manager has just said after the game how important it is we keep this run going.
"We have big games coming up so it is important to have a break now, have a rest and be ready for straight after the break."
