The Light Blues match away to Glasgow City will mark the end of a 20-year senior career for Gemmell, seven of which have been spent at Rangers.
The midfielder sat down exclusively with RangersTV ahead of her retirement, she said: “It is really difficult to try and explain how you feel when you have done something for so long.
“I have played the game for 20 years now at a senior level and it is almost like it is not real and it is not happening. It has just been so good to be part of this club and just be part of the support in general.
“I am just so glad and honoured that I have managed to be able to do that and do that at this club and end my career here.”
Gemmell has led Rangers through historic changes on and off the pitch as the women’s programme became fully-integrated with the club’s football department.
She continued: “It seems longer than seven years in a way. I have been through so much with the club training from training Benburb and to where it is now it is absolutely unbelievable and it is just such a good club to be at.
“They just know exactly what type of culture they want and the type of people they want in the team and everybody adds to the squad in some way which is really nice.”
Looking ahead to her final game on Sunday, Gemmell says it will be an emotional day. She continued: “I managed to keep myself together on the pitch last Sunday but after in the changing rooms I was pretty emotional so I really don't know how I am going to be this weekend.
“There will be emotions but I just have to be proud of everything I have been part of and thank you so much for this club for giving me the opportunity.”
