RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce that Carrick Packaging have extended their Official Partnership with Rangers B Team and Academy for the 2021/22 season.
Now in the third year of partnership, it is an exciting time for the Academy as the B team prepare for their debut season in the Scottish Lowland League.
As part of the partnership, Carrick Packaging’s logo will be displayed on the front of the B team and all Academy shirts for the 2021/22 season.
The Glasgow-based company, with offices around the UK, are passionate about youth development and youth sport. Over the past three years they have enjoyed watching the breakthrough to the first team environment for the likes of Nathan Patterson and Leon King.
Rangers Commercial and Marketing Director James Bisgrove commented: “We are thrilled to extend our relationship with Carrick Packaging, who remain strongly committed partners of the Rangers Academy.
“Everyone at Rangers is excited for the new era of the B team, as they prepare for their participation in the Lowland League, and the continued support of Carrick Packaging will play an integral role in this campaign and the development of future Rangers first team talent.”
Carrick Packaging will also have a significant presence around Ibrox Stadium during first team fixtures and at Dumbarton’s C&G Systems Stadium for B Team matches as well as a number of valuable digital assets across official club social media accounts, website and RangersTV.
Head of Academy Craig Mulholland added: “‘We are absolutely delighted to be working with Carrick Packaging again. This relationship is far more than a commercial partnership.
“John, Derek and their excellent team are committed to our Academy project and take the same sense of pride in the progress that Nathan Patterson made last season as all of our staff.
“Having attended many Academy games our friends at Carrick have watched his journey from a boy to a player who has won a Championship medal, competed well in the Last 16 of the Europa League and was selected to play for his country in the Euro 2020 finals and I know this is something they have enjoyed being part of.
“We have also visited their site recently, a factory which has been embedded in their community in North Glasgow for many years, and it was clear that our organisations share many values.
“We will look at ways in the coming year, to not only integrate Carrick further into the Academy project, but also how we can work together to use Carrick’s environment to assist in creating the humble, respectful young player which fits with the traditions and standards at Rangers.
“The support from Carrick allows us to continue to push the boundaries to create a modern winning Rangers and an Academy which is seen as innovative with a project which is aspirational.”
Carrick Packaging Operations Director Derek Warren added: “Carrick Packaging are delighted to be entering into the third year of our partnership as Official Academy and B Team Partner.
Last year was a tough year in so many ways for everybody and getting to watch the young Rangers teams was something we really missed.
“The involvement of Rangers B Team in the Lowland League makes this coming season all the more exciting. The Carrick team are looking forward to giving the young Gers our support in what is a really good quality league packed with experienced players.
“Combined with a return to European football it means the young players will have the opportunity to face completely different challenges each game.
“I am sure 2021/22 will be another successful season for the Rangers B Team and Academy. Craig Mulholland and his team will be doing everything possible to make sure the next Nathan Patterson and Leon King are as best prepared as they can be when the opportunity arises. “
We’ll have exclusive behind-the-scenes access to the Rangers Training Centre every day as Steven Gerrard’s side prepare to build on the fantastic success of last season.
