Gers had to work incredibly hard to break down the two banks of five they were up against, and after going a goal down, Itten netted either side of two Kemar Roofe strikes late in the second half.
It was a terrific win for Gers, and speaking afterwards to RangersTV, Itten explained: "It was nice to win this game after the defeat in the last game. We wanted to show a reaction today and I think we did that.
"It was not easy at the beginning, but it showed the mentality of the team.
"It was not easy because we were 1-0 down but we kept to the plan and we stayed confident, we kept the ball and at the end, it showed we had enough quality to win this game.
"It is always nice to score goals as a striker. I think the most important thing though is the team and the team winning.
"We did today and I am really happy for that."
Itten finished well in the 82nd minute to put his side ahead – with that being his first goal here at Ibrox.
He’s now onto four Rangers goals, and again today, he made a massive contribution in so many positive ways going forward.
Itten continued: "I saw some space there and I expected the ball to come in there. I am just happy the ball went in and I made it 2-1.
"It was not easy because we were 1-0 down but we kept to the plan and we stayed confident, we kept the ball and at the end, it showed we had enough quality to win this game."
