Several important milestones were reached last season, including having made £6 million in cash and in-kind donations to charitable causes since our inception.
The Foundation was able to champion and assist a range of local, national and international charity partners, including: Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity; Glasgow City Mission; Children 1st, Age Scotland, UNICEF UK as well as a range of armed forces charities.
During the year, community programmes were delivered to over 8,000 people of all ages, including our CashBack for Communities - Towards New Futures project which has now successfully completed six programmes for vulnerable young people.
The Hub in the Community initiative has now expanded to a fourth secondary school in Glasgow with plans to launch a fifth soon.
An extensive suite of employability programmes for young people was delivered throughout the year, with staff working hard to support routes into positive destinations, deliver 300 SQA awards and help over 100 young people secure jobs. Our Charity Arm proud to receive the Bronze Award for our employability work in the UK Sports Business Awards Best Sports Community Scheme category.
The Foundation supported Drumoyne Community Council with a donation of £2000 for Ridgeway Dairy and Convenience Store to help fund packed lunches for children during the summer holidays for the second season.
107 adults lost a total of 88 stones and 299 inches around their waists thanks to our Football Fans in Training initiative. Mental wellbeing is arguably more important now than ever, and the Foundation has been focused on providing a number of programme opportunities for adults during the season, including Football Fans in Training; Team Talk; Changing Room and our Recover Drop-In Service.
Our continued commitment to diversity and inclusion saw a range of tailored educational programmes delivered to over 1000 primary-school pupils in Glasgow and beyond. Sessions delivered by our community coaches focus on health and wellbeing and diversity and inclusion.
Letters of support have continued to be arranged from first-team players to be sent to those affected by illness, bereavement and difficult circumstances during the pandemic and resumed in-person Dream Fund experiences.
The generosity and backing of our supporters have been phenomenal this year! From our incredible Charity Ball, to our 150th Anniversary Appeal activities, Big Ibrox Sleep Outs and online auctions and raffles – we could never achieve so much for others without this incredible support.
Foundation Director Connal Cochrane commented: "I hope you will be able to take time to read our annual review and that you’ll feel both proud of, and inspired by, the remarkable work of the Rangers Charity Foundation.
"Of course, we couldn’t have done it without you, our supporters. Thank you to everyone who has helped us achieve so much over the last year!"
