Charlie Lindsay Reflects on Rangers B Campaign So Far

CHARLIE LINDSAY has reflected on a positive campaign for Rangers B and says the side are keen to continue their progression in the Lowland League.

Speaking to RangersTV after a second successive league fixture fell victim to the weather, the young midfielder took stock of his season from both an individual and team perspective: “The performances have been good, not just the results but actually how we’ve played within those matches as well which is always an added bonus.

“The wins are what you want but when you play well when doing that, it’s what you’re wanting. We’ve been pleased with it. We’ve had some great play and great goals, with goals coming from all across the team. What we’ll look to do is keep more clean sheets, and we’ll work hard in our analysis to sort out stuff that’s went wrong.”

The Northern Irishman has made the step up from the under-18s this term, where he insists the exposure to Lowland League football has aided his development.

He continued: “It’s been good. We’ve been playing against older, more physical, experienced players. With that comes learning, and I feel that we’ve adapted to it really well this season. I feel that I’ve adapted well to it myself and it’s just about pushing on and keep progressing.

“It gets you used to the travelling every week, going to different places and venues that we’re not used to. Having crowds against us and, even sometimes, the surface of the pitch perhaps not being great for us. Everything adds up and it’s all about learning from it, but I’ve enjoyed it so far.”

The next match is always the most important as a Rangers player, and Lindsay insists there is no time for the side to rest on their laurels as they gear up for their remaining two fixtures of 2022.

He added: “We’ve dropped a few points here and there which we’d like to improve on but, overall, we’ve done really well and we just want to keep it up. We’ve scored a lot of goals, and we perhaps could have kept more clean sheets than we have which is something we’ll look to improve on. We’re in good form at the moment and, as long as we keep it up, it’s going well.

“We’ve been in really good form and it’s about keeping that up. We need to keep on playing well, scoring goals and getting clean sheets, and when that comes, everyone is happy. It’s just about continuing what we’re doing.”
