The midfielder rounded off the first half scoring as she added the third on the day as Rangers ran out eventual 4-0 winners over Partick Thistle at Broadwood Stadium.
Speaking to RangersTV after making it back-to-back league wins for Jo Potter’s side, she said: “It is always nice to get on the scoresheet, but three points is the main important thing for us and we have managed to secure that.
“I felt like it was a dominant performance from us, goals was the main priority for us and we have got four and a clean sheet, so a massive three points.”
The Scotland international said it was important her side maintained focus after a nasty head collision between two players in the first half brought the game to a halt, as she praised the Light Blues for their impressive start to 2024/25.
She continued: “I think that we something that we lacked last season, there was times in games that we weren't clinical enough.
“That is a big focus for us and so far so good.
“Important we maintained focus? Definitely, I think it took us a wee bit to get back into the swing of things but towards the end of the first half we managed to do that and we managed to secure the three points.”
Cornet says the squad are in a good place physically after their pre-season schedule and start to the season as they now prepare to face newly promoted Queen’s Park in the second installment of their three-game week on Wednesday evening.
She added: “I think as a team and individually we have had a great pre-season.
“Everyone is really fit and there is competition within the squad which is of great importance.
“Each player is pushed within every training session and every game and we are performing well so far.
“We will treat them just the same as we do any other team in the league.
“It will be another big game for us, straight into a three-game week so next focus is on Wednesday.”
