CHRIS Condy says there is an eagerness amongst the Rangers ranks to deliver the Scottish Youth Cup this season.
The Under-18’s side booked their place in the fourth round with a commanding win over Darvel on Friday evening, as they target a strong run to get their hands on the trophy they last won in May 2024.
Speaking to the official Rangers website, the striker says it is the demand to deliver success when representing the club, with the youngsters involved in several different competitions this campaign.
He said: “Youth Cup being a drive to deliver silverware? It always is, when you come through the gates here, it is always about winning.
“I think that is what you need to do at the football club, so it is just about continuing that.
"We are looking to win the competition; there is no getting away from that.
“We will be very disappointed if we don't win it, but I think that is always what you need to.
“It is always good, it's good to play against men and then the same for playing against teams you wouldn't usually play in the league or cup.
“It's all about different experiences and, first and foremost, we want to win, but the experiences are also really important.
“That is what we will target; we want to win everything that we are involved in, so that is the expectation.”
The 18-year-old was on hand to score a brace in the 9-0 win, as he reflected on the evening’s work as well as playing alongside winger Zebedee Lawson, who claimed the match ball with a hat-trick.
He added: “I think the first 10 or 15 minutes it was just about sussing each other, and then we were about to do that, and we knew where we could hurt them.
“You need to give them the respect that they deserve first and foremost, and then play your stuff.
“You need it, that is my game, scoring goals.
“I thought I had started the season quite well by doing that, so it is just about continuing that.
“You always know whenever he [Lawson] gets the ball, he is going to commit somebody or he is going to hurt them.
“It is nice to play with him because you know what he is about, and he is a top player.
“It is always good, it's nice to play with a different group to see different styles.
“We are all pally with each other, so it has been easy to kind of mix in.”
