It was the second in the space of a week for the young keeper after last Tuesday’s 2-0 victory in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup against League One side Stranraer.
He said: “It was a good win for the boys we had a young squad as well as a couple of first team boys so I think we hadn’t really trained a lot together so to put it into practice in a game was very good.
“We did adapt well, I think the boys are good at that because there has been a bit of mix and match the past couple of games and since the start of pre-season so I think we have dealt with it quite well.”
With a number of experienced players coming into the squad for today’s game Wright relished the chance to play alongside them.
He added:
“I thought the goal was coming today, I thought we could’ve came in at half-time two or three up but we just kept pushing and pushing in the second half and it was going to come.”
It was announced yesterday that the 20-year-old has been called up to the Scotland Under-21 squad for the upcoming UEFA Euro Qualifiers against San Marino and Croatia.
He added: “I am delighted and I am happy with the call-up, I am looking forward to that.
