The Light Blues were 2-0 down to the visitors only for Ross McCausland to net just before half-time.
Second half strikes from Cyriel Dessers, a stunner from Todd Cantwell and a double from Scott Wright sealed the win.
Gaffer Clement was delighted to secure the victory but admits the first half display wasn’t acceptable.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “They reacted in a good way, they started in a good way with the ball.
“Without the ball it wasn't good enough or strong enough, it was not fast enough and good enough on crosses.
“I was really angry at half time as they didn't reward themselves and they got booed off and we deserved that and I told them that.
“We got a good lesson because after the game they got all the praise, everyone was happy and we got a lot of applause and nice songs.
“They had a good feeling but it is about what you do with and without the ball.
“In the second half we did both and then we were a good team, but we need to be like that for 90 minutes.”
Clement handed young full-back Robbie Fraser a competitive senior debut and he says it was the Scotland Under-21 international’s reward for his work on the training ground.
He added: “If you see how young the squad was at the start, how young it was when it ended and how many players we had from the academy, it is normal they need to take lessons to become stronger.
“It is really clear how many steps they have taken this season compared to six months ago, but you need to be switched on all the time.
“It was a special moment for Robbie but he deserved that.
“He worked hard in training and he has shown he is ready. I don't put young guys on the pitch if I am not sure they are ready.
“I am not afraid to put young guys on the pitch if they deserve it.
“They have been involved in recent months as it is important for us to create squad players from the academy.
“Scott Wright showed everyone in the squad is ready to come in and do the job.
“We need to do that in the last two games and go really hard, to be ambitious in every moment of the game from the start to the end.
“Then we can make it a really good season if we do that.”
