The Light Blues travel to the capital to take on Hearts tomorrow evening in a quick turnaround after their weekend’s win over St Mirren.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference the manager believes his side will have to be ready for a test in Edinburgh as the Gers look to maintain their impressive start under their new boss which has seen them go 10 games unbeaten in all competitions.
He said: “It will be a big one [challenge], of course we have beat them in two games. It is a little bit special; it is my 11th game for the club and the third time against the same opponent, but we have to be two times on our toes to have a really good level to beat them.
“It is a good team, with organisation and good attacking players. They are also super motivated, what I hear and read about this game, to beat us.
“It is going to be a big challenge for us. It is a good team, with also a coach with a history with Rangers, so it is also extra motivated in that way. We know it is a big challenge to go there.”
The Belgian was impressed by the control his side showed throughout their 2-0 victory on Sunday afternoon and hopes the team can build on the showing as they prepare to take on Steven Naismith’s men.
He continued: “I think a big positive was that we had control of the game for 90 minutes. We almost didn't give away anything, just two shots from distance, but two good shots and two good saves, but that you cannot avoid.
“For the rest, our second half was really good, with a lot of good movement and speed and ball tempo. Several good chances and two really good goals that we scored in that game.
“It is not easy to break open these walls that teams put, with a line of five and four in front of that and then to find space to get really good chances and the team did really well for sure in the second half.”
Clement says he gives full focus on every match as he prepares for another test on the road as Rangers look for a second win in their three-game week.
He said: “I give attention every time to that to be honest. It is not every time that you can score fast, we had for example our game in Dundee where we scored really fast and it opened up the game.
“Of course if you have teams who are from the start trying to stop us you can break that by scoring first, but they need to come also and that creates space afterwards. It is every time a point of attention from my side, nothing new or special there.”
