The Croatian has been troubled by injury since Michael Beale’s arrival as manager in December, which curbed his impressive goalscoring start to life in Glasgow after netting 14 goals in his first 24 appearances in all competitions.
Speaking to RangersTV before the trip to Edinburgh, Colak discussed his positive outlook upon his return to the team: “I'm a really active guy. I always want to be involved. I want to play and score. It's not easy for me to watch from the outside, but I'm really happy with how the team is doing and how everything has now developed with the new manager.
“Of course, I wanted to impress him directly from the first day. I had this time already, but then the small injuries took me out a little bit. But now I'm back fit. I always see everything positive. I got the break now. There are a lot of games coming up where I can be involved, where I can show my quality again and score. This is what I'm looking for.”
A visit to Tynecastle holds fond memories for Colak after his impressive first half double in the Light Blues’ 4-0 rout of Hearts in October.
He continued: “It's a nice atmosphere there to play, a tough game. I like these kinds of games, but I think everywhere where you go in Scotland, to away games, it's a fired-up atmosphere. I'm looking forward to the game and I hope to be involved, to make a good memory for me and the team, and then we'll see what will happen on Wednesday.
“I just want to continue the same way. You can see now in our formation, in our style, how we play. Of course, I want to score, but you can see how often you can assist, how often you can help the team to involve other players into situations and chances. I just want to be the best version of myself in the best version of the team.”
