The Ger outlined the squad’s confidence heading into the first tie of the play-off round of the tournament and emphasised that the team will give everything to reach the group stage of the competition.
Speaking at this afternoon’s press conference ahead of their first match against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side at Ibrox, he said: “I think that it’s the highest level that you can play on, it’s everybody’s dream.
"When you hear the Champions League anthem, it’s one of the biggest things – we are two games away from the dream, everyone is prepared and want to give everything to reach the group stage.
“I think my confidence is always high, it doesn’t matter if I score or not, I try to work hard for the team. I’m happy now with this period of scoring, it makes me hungry for more.
"I know that I can always try to score to bring me into situations, but first of all the most important thing is the success of the team. I try to always give everything to them, I’m always happy if I can add goals or assists.
“We’re really confident. We’ll play the first leg at home in front of our fans at Ibrox, that gives us a big push.
"We are two games away from the groups stage, we’ve come a long way, and everyone must be aware of how close we are. As a team, we’ll be prepared, and the coaches have prepared us well to be prepared in this game.”
Colak underlined his desire to progress to the next round of the Champions League with the club and emphasised his ethic to strive for success each day with the team.
He added: “I set my targets really high, and I want to always play on the highest level that I can. It’s an amazing feeling, I was lucky to experience it last year, and I want it again and I want it with Rangers – I want to be successful and reach more and more. “As a player and a person, I always go to the maximum, it doesn’t matter if it’s in training or in games. To have a player like Alfredo Morelos and the whole team, the quality of players makes us reach the maximum in training.
"To have him in the team means a lot for the whole squad, we need players like that in every position to be successful. I try to work hard every day and to improve myself.
“I just want to reach the maximum out of everything and to give my best every day. The coach gives me the trust and the minutes, I want to give him that trust back with my work on the pitch and goals.”
After signing with the club this summer, the striker took time to reflect on his time at the club so far and highlighted the incredible atmosphere’s he has experienced with the Rangers support at each home fixture.
He continued: “The boys made it really easy for me, I feel really welcomed. I’m surprised by all the facilities and the whole atmosphere is amazing. I enjoy it, every game I enter training ground and I’m really happy to be here.
"It means a lot to me to play for Rangers, I know that not everybody has the possibility to be here, I want to give everything to the club everyday.
“It’s even difficult for me to explain, when you walk out onto the pitch you always get goosebumps. It’s a special feeling, they’re helping us on the pitch all the time. It makes us stronger and other teams weaker.”
