Cole McKinnon: B Team Have High Hopes

COLE McKinnon says the Rangers B team have ‘high hopes’ as they welcome Sevilla to Dumbarton on Tuesday afternoon in the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League.

The Young Ger expressed his excitement to face the Spanish side in the tournament but insists the squad must keep focussed as they prepare ahead of the match.

Speaking exclusively to RangersTV ahead of the important fixture, he said: “We are absolutely buzzing, it’s the same as every Youth League game that has come up, everybody is flying, and we’ve had a good few training sessions under the belt.

“Getting minutes in the league as well is preparing us for it. We had a friendly match against Manchester United to raise that standard again and get us used to what we’ll come up against.

“I think that we’ll need to be on it that little bit more to prepare better to make sure that we do the correct things after training to make us 100% able to come out with a win.”

The Light Blue discussed his expectations ahead of the game and outlined the support from the Rangers fans has been incredibly beneficial during each of their European fixtures.

“We know that they are a good side, the coaches have been watching their Youth League games and we know that they can move the ball well. If we play the way that we play, we should have high hopes.

“We need to make sure going into the game knowing and believing that we can come out with a victory and good result to play good football.

“They [the fans] get right behind us; it just gives you that extra something that just makes you want to do better. The boys would love it if they were there again.”
