The young Gers are targeting a place in the quarter-finals as they take on Championship side Airdrieonians at Cappielow Park on Tuesday night.
The Light Blues are the only B team remaining in the competition as they get set to step foot out at the stadium once again and the midfielder hopes the team can take belief from their victories in the previous rounds.
Speaking to the media in this afternoon’s press conference, he commented: “The games that are coming up now they are all going to be at a good standard. After the last round obviously the boys fought it out and got a good win down at Cappielow. Hopefully we can get a lot of fans up again and we can put on a show.
“I am looking forward to it, I know all the boys are. I think the games are coming quick and fast now so we had our last preparations today in training and everybody is recovering after, so it will be a good game and I’m looking forward to it.
The 20-year-old missed out on the victory in the previous round in the win over Alloa Athletic due to injury but he is looking ahead to the possibility of running out at the home of Greenock Morton having played there during a spell out on loan last season.
He continued: “I never actually played in the game due to injury but obviously I played there with Partick Thistle when I was on loan. It is a great pitch and the ball moves well on it. It was in the summer though when I had played there so obviously now in the winter it probably moves a little bit better with the wet surface and hopefully the rain can help it a bit as well, so looking forward to it.”
The centre-midfielder hopes his experiences of being out on loan in past campaigns will help him for his own development and for the younger players in the squad as they target further progression in the cup competition.
He added: “They have been hugely beneficial. Obviously my first one was East Fife; it was only a few months loan during the COVID season but it was still good to get out there into a men's changing room at such an early age. Coming back and then going to Partick Thistle on loan for the full season.
“That was my first proper loan I'd like to say, I have my ups and downs as well. I have been playing and been on the bench, coming back and been training a lot.
“I think it has been huge for me to get those experiences and now bring it back into a young changing room and hopefully I can pass some of that on.”
