Rangers had to come from behind twice and almost won it at the death in their 2-2 draw with Hibs at Meadowbank this evening in the SPWPL.
Speaking to RangersTV to reflect on the night’s events, she commented: “It was not the most enjoyable if I am being honest.
“I thought again we have given ourselves a mountain to climb going behind early in the game, Response wise if I can pick the positives I think coming back twice in the game and taking something at a venue that we know over the years is notorious and really difficult to come too, but no I didn't enjoy the first half performance especially.
“I don't think we got anywhere near our levels, no identity about us and just probably too complacent in certain moments.
“These are the types of games that are going to define your season but I think over the course of the game you seen again real character, resilience from the group to keep fighting.
“When I write off the negatives and frustrations within the game we could have left here with three points.
“I think we had enough opportunities in the second half, a real big one for Mia [McAulay] of course at the end and another couple of moments which I am not one for complaining about decisions in terms of the referee but I have looked at a couple of moments back and I think we have been robbed with a few things that potentially could have led to a goal and some real good chances.
“That I am frustrated by but I am really pleased that we have left here with at least a point, because we know how valuable points can be at this stage of the season.”
After a couple of difficult displays to take in Edinburgh, the Head Coach wants her team to try get back to their best levels in an important stretch of games between now and the end of the campaign.
She continued: “I am frustrated that we have not played to the level that we can play, I am frustrated that they have not been brave enough in the first half to take the ball and after you make a mistake, I want them to keep taking the ball, I want them to keep playing.
“If we lose games and we don't pick up the points that are required that is on me, and I am absolutely comfortable for us to take that, but what I need from the group between now and the end of the season is yes to bounce back and pick up these valuable points, but I want to see more about us.
“I want to see our identity; I want to see everything that I see day to day in the Training Centre and how good those players can be.
“We saw that in flashes tonight, that is why we got something from the game and as I mentioned we could have taken all three points.
“I know Hibs will probably say the same, but I am focused on us and the positives from that.
“We dust ourselves down now and we have got a massive game on Sunday.”
The Gers now switch their focus to back-to-back clashes against Glasgow City in both league and cup action, with Crichton insisting the team will be prepared for the challenge that awaits.
She added: “We are looking forward to it, games this season against City have been really marginal, again really close.
“I think we have given a good account of ourselves; we have competed and controlled a lot of the games.
“We have got massive respect for them as well, but it is a game that we are looking forward too.
“These are the types of games that we want to be part of; we want them to be pressurised. We want to have the pressure on us to go now and try win the game.
“That is absolutely what the split is about and looking to try stay in the title race.
“We have got a job to do with that, but I think the players will be ready for it.
“They have been ready every game and albeit there has been moments that have been a real frustration and disappointment certainly in the last two games, but that group have been ready the whole season.”
