The Brazilian striker climbed off the bench with the Light Blues 2-0 down to Middlesbrough, before notching a goal with a neat header.
Youngster Findlay Curtis completed the comeback with his third goal in as many games at Ibrox to finish the match all square.
Danilo did a mini pre-season in his homeland before linking up with new Head Coach Russell Martin’s squad and he reckons that has put him in great shape.
Speaking to RangersTV, he said: “It was a good test against a good team. Also it is great preparation for us for the games coming up.
“It was great to score and it is good for my confidence. I wanted to come on and contribute to the team.
“I knew I might only get one chance so I had to be ready to take it. I have worked on that to be mentally ready.
“If I start or I am on the bench, I have to try to do my best when I get minutes and that’s what happened.
“It is good to have sharpness and I am feeling good. It was one of the best pre-seasons I have had and I started from scratch to be ready for the games.
“I was pushing hard from the first day as I knew it would be worth it and it has helped to put me where I am. I am hoping for more goals when the real games start.
“The gaffer has been brilliant and he likes to work out from the back and a lot of players are now understanding what he wants.
“We have new players who are here too and they are showing what they can do. It has been good for the team and hopefully we can get a lot of victories.”
The Gers will travel to Athens for the second leg of the Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos on Tuesday.
Martin’s men are 2-0 up from the first leg and the hitman says the team are ready for Wednesday's crunch clash ahead of the Premiership opener away to Motherwell.
He added: “It will be warm there but we have worked hard at home.
“It will be hard, but it is up to us to bring the victory home and qualify for the next round.
“We are looking forward to it and then we have the league season starting after it.
“We have to take it game by game and we don’t have a long time between games.
“We are thinking about Panathinaikos and we are hoping to leave there with a good feeling ahead of Motherwell.”
