With Derek McInnes’ side currently top of the league, the head coach is expecting a tight game but hopes Rangers can continue to build on recent momentum.
Speaking to the press at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, he said: “It will be a tough game, but everything is on. This is why we play football to have such a game.
“We know we can make the next step. We will not win the league this weekend, but of course, to face a team who at the moment are at the top of the league. It is a great challenge, that is what we want. I think it will be a great atmosphere in the stadium, and we are prepared and looking forward to this.
“It will be a tight game, there will not be much in it, both teams will fight for every inch and put a lot of effort in.
“Hearts are doing well at this; they are the team with the most goals at the moment as well, everything is there, and I like to have this challenge. I think my team feel it now, they feel the confidence, the win on Monday was a big one for us, it was a good start in a busy schedule.
“The next six games are crucial until the cup game, and then we know exactly where we are. We have made the first step, but now it is about making the next one.”
The head coach revealed Lyall Cameron will be out after having an injection yesterday, while there is still a question mark over the fitness of striker Bojan Miovski ahead of Sunday’s fixture.
When asked about the title race, he continued: “Every team is part of the title race because if they take the points against our opponents, then they also influence the results.
“If you look at the table you have with Hearts, and then you have two teams that are trying to close the gap, and you never know, behind there are also some teams that have got some good results.
“To win something in this league, you have to take a lot of points, not just against the top six, but also against the teams that are a little bit down in the table, because this is sometimes more crucial to take and you do your homework against these teams.”
Röhl says it is important that his squad continue to improve and take steps forward. He added: “They believe at the moment that we will find a way to take points and they are critical with themselves and when we speak after the game.
“We have to improve. The results at the moment are there, but this is now my job and my coaching team’s job that we are not lazy and think we take the result, and everything is good; it is also about what we have to improve.
“We have to be critical after wins as well because if you make no steps forward, then we will stick in the position where we are, and that is not good enough.”
