With a 3-1 victory over Kilmarnock on Sunday in the head coach’s first league match in charge, Röhl has witnessed a change in atmosphere, something he hopes they can continue to build.
Speaking to the media at this afternoon’s pre-match press conference, he said: “I have enjoyed the last couple of days. I saw everyone smiling a little bit more and it would be good to keep the momentum now.
“After a win you always feel the positive energy, but we know we have to build on this now and we do this with hard work. When you come from this period where we are, you need the next win and then you build on it and then you start to create more and more belief, but it was a huge step up in the atmosphere.
“Today in the morning we sat here, and I looked in the faces of my players, and I see there is a big, big belief now. I think they feel it on the pitch. I have the feeling they believe in what we are doing.”
Röhl welcomed Dujon Sterling back to training today, as the defender continues his recovery from an achilles injury which he suffered in April.
The head coach says he can see the players growing in confidence, he said: “It is important that I look at my players that are here at the moment.
"I see now that players are growing in confidence. I see it now in small, sided games when players start to talk, when I arrived some players were very quiet and now, they start to talk this is great.
“We will look at what we can improve, I think we have a clear idea which players make some steps forward and at the moment it goes in the right direction. I have good team around me.
On what he expects from Hibernian, he added: “It has been a short period, and if I am honest with you, it is a busy time.
“It is very clear what they do, how they play football, and they create a lot of good opportunities with a direct play and style of football. We have to be careful, and we have to understand how we press.
“I spoke with the players in which moment, but then it is always a good thing if a team attacks because they also have a lot of spaces which we should use so it is about finding the balance tomorrow.
“They are a team who like to have a little bit of transition moments in both directions. We need good organisation and if we do this then we have a big big chance.”
