Danny Rohl Praises Backing From Gers Support

DANNY Röhl praised the backing from the Rangers support as they roared the team on to another crucial three points in Scottish Premiership action.

In a frustrating first half, the Gers responded after the break as James Tavernier struck his 100th league goal from the penalty spot before Danilo and Djeidi Gassama added two further goals in stoppage time to secure an eighth win on the bounce in all competitions by overcoming Dundee 3-0.

Speaking to RangersTV after the win, the Head Coach credited his players for another big result and the fans to help them get them over the line, he said: “Big respect to my players and how they're performing at the moment.

“Not easy, even today you have to find solutions, you have to fight and bring in a lot of effort to win such a game.

“At the end I like it to see it being 3-0, it looks a really solid and deserved win.

“The win was fully deserved, what we can improve of course after the 1-0 then take the second and third and 2-0 and not have so many transition moments against you.

“It was a little bit too open at this time of the game than I demand.

“I expect a little bit more control from our side but how we fight and how scored it was also nice. 2-0 after a pressing moment, well done from Danny then Gas made a good goal.

“All in all I am happy, what we are doing at the moment it is for me outstanding and also the big respect now we spoke about noises in the stadium, today there were great noises, noises after the game at the end.

“Let's carry on together, us on the pitch, you in the stands and then there is a lot of good energy in the club.”

The German reflected on closely contested first half as the team went in goalless, but highlighted the response from his team after the restart.

He continued: “I think in general in the first and always is in such a game you half to control it.

“You have to find the spaces; we had some good moments still in the first half but then in some moments we had too many players behind the ball instead of in the next level and this is what we talked about half time.

“That we have to break the pressing line better, that was a great reaction this was an outstanding moment from the team, you speak about things and they bring it straight into the game.

“Big respect, I think they can enjoy it as well, my players should get a lot of credit for their performances at the moment from all of us.

“Let's continue this way, long way to go but it feels fantastic eight wins this is phenomenal it is not normal even for us, even for big teams.

“Eight wins you have to work hard for this.”

On a great run of victories with a clean sheets to go with it, the boss says the team doing the basics well is what has been key to their success.

He added: “It is the basics at the moment, the clean sheets. We gave them today they had no opportunity I think from what I remember.

“We were really solid in the defence again the back four did a good job.

“Gifting them little situations then really it is about transition moments, we sometimes in the game we were too slow in pushing up this is what we have to improve but today I will be not so critical of my group.

“Big respect to them, let's carry on, 15 games to go and then everything is on.”
