Following a setback in their first post-split outing, the Light Blues trail the leaders by four points heading into the fixture with an opportunity to close the gap in the title race at Tynecastle.
Speaking to the media in today’s press conference, the Head Coach highlighted what is going to be key for the Gers to take a positive result: “I think you have a lot of 50-50 duals which you have to win.
“You have to move the ball in good areas and have to be very active. You have to ask for the ball; this is crucial. You have to be well-organised and have to be smart in the duals because if you make stupid fouls in dangerous areas, then we give them the strength for set plays as well.
“On the other side, if we have our best day, then I think they also have a lot of challenges to control us, and this is the part as well.
“We now need in the next four games performances which are nearly, and sometimes all, 100 per cent to take the points.
“After the Motherwell game, we face an opponent that has been doing well the whole season.
“I think they are very aggressive, what they are doing they do in a good way.
“This is a tough place to go. I remember when we played in December, the first 30 minutes we were very strong, and we controlled the game well.
“We scored, and unfortunately, it was a very close offside situation, and then we come to strength, I think next to us they have the most set play goals. This is the challenge that we have, second ball, long ball, cross ball, you have to defend really aggressively.
“If you do this well, then you have a great opportunity to take something.
“We know what it means, we are four points behind, both teams have the pressure, even Hearts cannot say we go for a draw or something like this, they will also try everything.
The German has praised the response of his players on the training pitch this week following their disappointing Sunday result, as he anticipates a lively affair when his side heads to the capital on Monday evening.
He continued: “The good thing for us we were disappointed on Sunday, but on Monday when I arrived in the building, the spirit was outstanding from the players.
“They are, of course, still disappointed, but when I spoke with the players, they were straight and said, now we still have a big chance and we go again, and that was great to see.
“I didn't have the feeling of course after the result we were down, but we didn't have the feeling that someone gives up or things.
“This is what I like, and if you ask all three teams at the moment, they will all say we can win.
“We still have a big opportunity for changes that before the Motherwell game we could do it just with our results, now we need a result from other sides and a little bit of help, but there is a big belief and the week is so far good, and this is what we need.
“The atmosphere will be on fire, I think. They fight for something, and they play for a historical season, and they go all in, but we will also be ready for this.
“We also go there and be ready to fight this, and I think it depends on how the game goes.
“I think it is important that we understand the game, good game management, in some moments we need this.
“It will, in some phases of the game, not be the nicest one because there will be a lot of 50-50 duals, and everyone on the pitch must make good decisions in both directions. This is crucial, and we have to focus on bringing our best football on the pitch.
Röhl heaped praise on striker Youssef Chermiti for his recent contributions in front of goal, whilst providing an update on the fitness of recent injury absentees Tuur Rommens and Ryan Naderi.
He added: “Honestly, for me, Youssef [Chermiti] is one of the players who is exactly the role model for our development from October to now.
“I think he had a really difficult time in October, November, and maybe now, if you ask people, nobody will say he should be on the bench.
“Four or five months ago, we had so many talks, Youssef and this is what I said from the first day and how hard he worked for the group.
“You see, in every single game at the moment, he scores a lot of goals, and he is involved in a lot of dangerous situations.
“Tuur is back in training, which is a good sign, but of course, after four weeks, let's see how strong the week goes now and how the reaction is. I think this is crucial, but yesterday was the first training session that was good.
“Ryan looks good as well, still some doubts for the Monday game, but good information since three weeks ago, it looks much better now, and this is a good sign. Let's see how the squad is on Monday.
