The head coach felt the squad responded well to a difficult Lowland League match at the weekend to start strong at Rangers Training Centre this evening.
Speaking to RangersTV at full-time, he said: “I thought first of all it was a great reaction to what was a difficult game at the weekend.
"We challenged the players and although I thought we played well in the first-half against East Kilbride, the way the second-half went and just the lack of concentration at key moments ultimately cost us.
“The reaction tonight was excellent. We asked them to take a lot of pride when it comes to the key individual moments and I think tonight they did much much better.
“In the first-half we carried a real clinical attacking threat and obviously we managed to get three goals.”
As well as the strong attacking display, McCallum praised the defensive efforts of his squad.
He continued: “When you look at the team it is a very attacking team and we slightly tweaked the shape a little bit to give us more numbers higher up the pitch.
“We have defended really well also and picked anything up really quickly so these are the pride moments of making sure you don't switch off just you have got yourself in a comfortable position because it only takes one or two goals to change that so they have done that well tonight.”
